PAUL STARKMAN DIRECTOR
Paul, born and raised in Brooklyn NY is a film and television director and a graduate of the AFI Cinematography program. Paul quickly worked his way up from camera operator on MTV's The Real World to DP of America's Next Top Model. In 2006 Paul began shooting finales for Project Runway and was soon directing for the program, which led to his first Emmy nomination. He joined Bravo's hit Top Chef, directing for seven seasons. In 2007 Paul wrote and directed The Tree, a short film that told the story of one man looking for shade on a treeless block in Brooklyn. He wrote and directed his first feature film, Wheels, a story of a young DJ making his way in Brooklyn. Winning multiple awards on the festival circuit (Woodstock Best Narrative Feature), Wheels was released by 1091 Pictures in 2020. Paul's work includes Making it (NBC) , Baking it (NBC) Lego Masters/Lego Masters Jr. (FOX), Next Level Chef (FOX), Crime Scene Kitchen (FOX), Top Chef (BRAVO) The Trust (NETFLIX), Pressure Cooker (NETFLIX), Nailed it (NETFLIX), and the upcoming Temptation Island (NETFLIX). Paul gets his juice telling stories of highly skilled, passionate people on a journey to reveal or discover what they're made of.
